About Us

Hughes Enterprise Law Practice was formed by Tony Hughes as a new firm to meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, and individuals working in such businesses. The firm will appeal particularly to good business managers who wish to benefit from 25 years of legal experience across a broad range of different areas which include many years’ experience of working in a top 50 law firm. The vision for the firm is to use that experience to inform and enlighten clients; but also, more importantly, to empower them to achieve their business goals.

Tony Hughes is an experienced legal practitioner who qualified in 1981 and has worked as a partner in another practice in other areas of the country before returning to Bristol, his home town, in March 2003. He is also an accredited mediator.

The advice will be detailed, where appropriate with a strong commercial emphasis recognising that one of the key aspects of addressing legal issues is sensitivity to the financial implications.

How do we do this?
Our experience enables us to give initial commercially-orientated advice to all our clients on a wide range of subjects. Imagine an in-house lawyer or Company Secretary who will give an initial view as to what is required, may be able to handle the matter himself but can help to appoint and manage other expert professionals if these are required.

Memberships – Tony Hughes is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association, and the Society for Computers and Law; the Firm is a member of Business West.
